🕋 The reality of loving the Prophet and its true meaning
(point-by-point)
➖➖➖➖➖➖

🔷 Point 1: Prophet (s.a.w.) perfectly combined all the beautiful characters...

✔ There is no doubt in sincere believers’  souls  that the beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) perfectly combined his beautiful appearance, perfect manners, kindness and good treatment of others. Such perfection was unprecedented and will never be equalled. This is among the reason why he deserved our full and sincere love.

🔷 Point 2: The reality of loving the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.)

✔ The reality of loving the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) lies in making all that which one loves and favours correspond to everything that the prophet (S.A.W.) loved and favoured. The virtue of loving Allah and His Messenger (s.a.w.)  is that it will lead a person to adhere to their commands and refrain from bid‘ah (innovations in the religion) and what they prohibited.
➖➖➖➖➖➖
🔹 Point 3: Loving Allah and His Messenger is one of the tenets of Islam.

✔ Anas Ibn Malik, narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w.) said: “One who attains the following three things will taste the sweetness of faith: To make Allah and His Messenger more beloved to himself than anything else; To love a person for no other reason except for the sake of Allah; And to hate to return to disbelief just as much as he would hate to be thrown into fire.” (Bukhari, Muslim ).

A renowned scholar has said: "Loving Allah and His Messenger more than anything else is one of the tenets of Islam, without which a slave is not considered a believer." . He also said: "Loving Allah and His Messenger is the greatest action that faith obligates, it is the greatest tenet of faith itself and the most glorified fundamental of it. Indeed loving Allah and his Messenger is the foundation for all deeds".

Loving Allah and His Messenger is compulsory, and that this love must take precedence over everything else. This is a ruling on which there is no difference among the scholars. Said by a renowned scholar.

🔷 Point 4: The companion’s love of the Prophet (s.w.a.) is undisputable facts

✔ The companion’s love of the Prophet (s.a.w.) is undisputable facts. Some examples of this love

✔ The mother of believers Aa’ishah, reported that a man came to the Prophet (s.a.w.)  and said: "O messenger of Allah! You are dearer to me than my family, my children and even myself. Sometimes I am sitting in my home and I remember you, and then I am overwhelmed with the desire to come and see you. When I think about your death and mine; I realise that when you die you will at the rank of the Prophets in paradise, but I fear that if I enter paradise, I will not be able to see you." "The Prophet (s.a.w.) did not answer this man until Allah revealed the following verse. In Surah An-Nisaa’: 69.
“And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger – those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favour of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of the truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.”

Anas bin Malik, said that a man asked Prophet (s.a.w.): "When will the (last) hour come?" He (s.a.w.) replied: “What have you done to prepare for it?” The man replied: "Nothing, except the love I have for Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (s.a.w.)  replied: “You will be (on the Day of Judgment) with those whom you love.” Anas bin Malik said: "We (the companions) never rejoiced at anything more than his words, when he said “You will be (on the Day of Judgment) with those whom you love.”’ Anas, continued: "I love the Prophet (s.a.w.), Abu Bakr and ‘Umar, and I hope to be with them (in the Hereafter) due to my love for them, even if I cannot do (the same amount of righteous deeds) as they do." (Bukhari, Muslim).

‘Ali Ibn Abu Talib said: "He who saw him, would naturally respect him; he who deal with him loved him."
➖➖➖➖➖➖
🔷 Point 5: Holding on to the Sunnah of Prophet is the real love

✔ Allah Almighty said: “Say [O Muhammad], 'If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you …’’ (Al 'Imran: 31)
This verse means that there is no way that leads to the love of Allah except the Prophet’s way.

A renowned scholar said: "Allah has made the truthfulness of ones claim to love Him conditional to obedience to the Prophet (s.w.a.). He has made obeying His Prophet (s.a.w.) a way of gaining His love”.  He further said: "Following the way of the Prophet (s.a.w.) internally and externally attains Allah's love.  Many people claim they love Him, yet they the furthest from the Prophet’s Sunnah."
➖➖➖➖➖➖
🔷 Point 6: Large numbers cannot be quoted as evidence of truth

✔ One of the ways in which Allah the Almighty deals with His creation is that the followers of truth are few in comparison to the followers of falsehood. Allah Almighty says:

“And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly” (Yuosuf 12:103).

“And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah’s Path” (al-An‘aam 6:116)

The number of followers is no indicator of truth, and that scarcity of followers does not signal that something is not truth, what is true and right is known from its being in accordance with the Book of Allah Almighty and the Sunnah of His Messenger (s.a.w.), and with what the early generations (Salaf) of this ummah were agreed upon, not from large numbers of those who say it.

🕌 To conclude,

The real sign of loving Prophet (s.w.a.) is to adhere and hold on to his Sunnah without innovating anything in the religion.
A scholar said:
"One of the signs of ones love for Allah is loving the Qur’an,
A sign of loving the Qur’an is to love the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.),

A sign of loving the Prophet (s.a.w.) is to love his Sunnah.........".

Another scholar said:

Adhere to the path of guidance, and do not be affected by the small numbers of those who follow the path. Beware of the paths of misguidance, and do not be deceived by the large numbers of those who are doomed by following them.

🕌 Ya Allah the merciful do not make us among those who  claim to love the Prophet (s.a.w.) but abandoned his Sunnah, or those who  recite the Holy Qur'an but do not act in accordance to it, or those who  claim enmity against Satan but have taken him as a guide or those who keep themselves busy with analysing the faults of others and are neglecting their own. Ameen.
